Follow the tioga road to tenaya lake and tuolumne meadows. The tioga road (highway 120 through the park, from crane flat to tioga pass) is usually closed from november through late may or early june.

It generally opens on the wednesday before memorial day in late may and closes when it becomes impassable due to snow.

It's about 2.5 hours to drive from mammoth lakes to yosemite valley when there is no traffic or any delays. You will need a peak entry permit to drive into yosemite.
